Thank you for your interest in contributing to the impactful work at the University of Florida’s College of Medicine. As a volunteer, you’ll have the chance to engage in our missions of patient care, education, research, and service, gaining invaluable experience while supporting our commitment to improving health care in Florida, the nation, and the world.
How to Get Started
To begin your journey as a volunteer, we encourage you to review the university’s Volunteer Policy and explore the various departments within the College of Medicine (Gainesville) that align with your interests—whether in research, clinical practice, or education. The first step is to connect directly with faculty members in your area of interest to determine if current volunteer opportunities are available.
Once you’ve secured support from a faculty member, they will connect you with the appropriate departmental volunteer contact to guide you through the application process, including submitting your volunteer application and completing all necessary paperwork.
Please note that while volunteer positions do not offer academic credit or medical certification, if you are seeking academic credit, please discuss this with the faculty member, as opportunities may be available. For those interested in observing or shadowing, please check out the Observer/Shadowing Application Process here.
